My HO Train Layout
The table is 14'x112". There is a 4'x4' section missing on one of the corners. The picture below is of the table before I made sure the top joints were all level with each other and sealed the top with a bare wood sealer.
The picture below is of the table after I sealed the top with a bare wood sealer.
The layout drawing appears below. I am using Atlas HO code 83 snap track. I am using a DCS Commander to power the track and control the trains. All locomotives will be MTH DCS ProtoSound 3.0 locomotives.
There are 2 reversing loops. They are wired like you would wire a reversing loop for DC except that the polarity within the loop is reversed when a manual switch is thrown.
There are 3 double track crossovers. The orange section has a leg going off to the left that elevates and goes to another smaller loop. The Yard section has insulated joiners so that it can be turned off when not in use.
I used AnyRail software to plan my layout.
Below is a full siz 1:1 printout of my layout. I will just lay my track out over the printed track. Pretty slick!
Below is a full siz 1:1 printout of my modified ayout. I will install the elevated section after this is done. The layout will have 2 double track crossovers when it is completed. The elevated section will not be connected to the main layout. There will be no inclines. I got rid of the s-curve on the Inner Main (green) section. I seperated the double track crossovers because they were too close and created s-curves of their own.
One last modification. Got rid of a questionable s-curve.
